Fees & Services
St. Louis Counseling for Kids, Teens, College Students and Parents
We love working with anxious and angry kids, teens, and young adults from age 4 on up, along with providing parent coaching.
Below you’ll find info on how we structures services and fees at Compassionate Counseling St. Louis (we’re big fans about being upfront, and if we’re not the best fit clinically or financially, we’re happy to connect you to other great resources outside of our office)!
Session Length:
Most sessions are 45 minutes long on a weekly basis, with a 12 session minimum. Read more about why this is the best way to meet goals on our FAQs page!
During your initial phone consultation, we’ll figure out the best time for our weekly appointments - that way you know your time is protected, and we won't schedule someone else during your session time.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel with at least 48-hours’ notice to avoid being charged the full session fee. We can offer sessions over the phone or through our HIPAA-compliant video system, doxy.me. You can use doxy over your phone or your computer! Your therapist will email you their specific secure waiting room link prior to the appointment.
Paying for therapy services
Payment is due at the start of every session
We accept credit card and HSA payments through our secure online system, Simple Practice. If you need to change your credit card or use a different method of payment, please let your therapist know at the start of session.
Some divorced parents like to change who pays for what appointments.
While we’re happy to charge different cards on different days, you will need to remind your therapist at the start of each session, and our invoices do not show which card is charged. Usually, the best bet is to just use one card for session, and have one parent reimburse the other for half of the sessions.
We took many factors into consideration when calculating our fee. If you’re curious about our specialized therapy services cost what they do, we have a whole article that we’d love for you to read: “What Goes Into Your Therapy Fee?”
No Surprises Act
You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any time, which we base on our expected sessions costs if you met with us for 50 sessions during a calendar year. All new clients are provided this regardless of whether or not they request it. If we saw you 45 minutes a week for 50 sessions, you would expect to pay $10,250. You could dispute any overcharges by filing a report, as explained on our GFE. For more questions please contact us.
We plan on 12 sessions to start, but many clients meet with us longer. Clients can also request, or we may recommend, longer sessions or more than weekly sessions. There may also be crises that require us to meet with you more than we’d expect. These will impact your total cost.
